The Rota family's osteria is an institution in the city, and in 2021 it has reached thirty-one years of honorable service. Antonella is in the dining room and her brother Daniele in the kitchen, in this delightful corner hidden in a small street in the Cenischia neighborhood where time seems to have stopped. Paneling, wooden tables, white tablecloths, a hand-written menu, a topia where you can eat in the summer under a cascade of strawberry grapes: all the perfect ingredients of the classic osteria are there. And the ingredients that Daniele uses in the kitchen are equally perfect and are a hymn to the Piedmontese home tradition, the one of the past, the one where there is no room for imagination because everything is already taken up by taste and quality.
The great classics are all there: tomino elettrico, anchovies in green sauce, vitello tonnato, agnolotti, tajarin and then the osteria's signature dish, the shin. In the summer you can enjoy the carpione, the crowning glory of a triumph of no-frills dishes that favor seasonal raw materials and the search for zero km as much as possible. The zero km concept is also applied to the wine list, which offers exclusively Piedmontese proposals. Because, as Antonella says, Piedmont lacks nothing, and at Osteria Antiche Sere the envy for other regions is zero just like the kilometers.
